El Ranchero Mexican Restaurant

This is now the best Mexican restaurant in Roxboro. My husband and I came here on a Sunday afternoon. The place was busy but not crowded and we were seated immediately. Chips and salsa were brought out and our drink order soon followed (they have Coke products, yay!) I was able to order from the lunch menu which is apparently 7 days a weeks. I got the lunch burrito frito which is a chicken burrito smothered in cheese sauce and pico. My husband got pick two, chile relleno and hard taco. Both meals came with rice and beans. All of our food was really, really good. The rice was perfect and the cheese sauce was amazing. The pico was fresh and the chile relleno was not battered and fried like some places (which is how my husband likes it.) The waiter checked on us numerous times...he was very attentive and helpful. The decor was colorful but tasteful...all new and very clean. We will definitely return!

My husband & I had lunch at El Ranchero . We thoroughly enjoyed our chicken burrito with rice and we were able to add a side of beans. The plate came out beautifully, the food was seasoned nicely and the portion size was perfect. The restaurant was spotless, which was impressive. The staff were kind and attentive. We have definitely found our favorite restaurant and will be returning.

Food and portions are great, very flavorful. Staff is kind and friendly. They make sure you are well cared for. It is a smaller setting compared to other places, but it has a great atmosphere.

My first time here tonight with my 2 daughters, service/employees are absolutely incredible! It was a full house, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait, ended up being about 10 minutes if that? Yes, we ordered cheese dip, it was lukewarm at best. But the entrees & service 100% made up for it. Our food came out FAST even with moderations. I asked for no tomato on top... our waiter even took the time to swing back and say "hey, your order may have tomato in your chicken." I said that was absolutely fine I can pick around it! There was no tomato in my dish at all and it was delicious. It does feel crowded with the space, but again the staff is absolutely incredible. The food was great. My two girls were making the "Star Trek hands" at each other when the bill was brought over.. the waiter made a joke of it for them to grab the bill and pass it around for who's paying definitely would recommend.

Now that the hubs lives here, he was on the hunt for a new favorite Mexican restaurant and so far, El Ranchero is it. It's a simple.dining layout I side and fairly open with mostly tables and both along the outside walls. The food we've had has been really good. Chimichanga, quesadillo, fajita, carnitas etc. The green sauce on the carnitas was the best we've had in a while. I love that they put cheese dip over the chimichanga. I did get a cheese quesadillo and there was just a little bit of cheese and not out to the edges. I've resorted to asking for a side of shredded cheese at any Mexican place I go just incase that happens. They have a great pick 2 items for $11.99. Big bang for your buck. They are usually busy, which is a good sign, but we've never had to wait too long for a table.

Food is great, service is great. Inside is very clean with a bar and two tv's. Must try for sure.

The restraunt was very clean and had nice ambiance. Service was good and food was delicious.

First time here. Was riding by on our motorcycles and stopped for lunch. Absolutely amazing food and service! Wished we lived closer we would definitely come back!

Stopped by today to try El Ranchero. I must say the food was delicious. All food came out quickly, hot, and tasty. The service was amazing; the best I've had in years. Everyone was so attentive and friendly. This place will give the other Mexican restaurants in town a run for their money. The atmosphere was typical, clean, and quiet. I will definitely be back!
